Not creating a database or running scripts

Post by zavery »

Neither my "Quick Start" project nor the sample SQL Server Connection project successfully created a database within the default instance (SQLEXPRESS) on the local computer. The SQL Server Connection project always throws the "Connection failed" error message. I've tried disabling the firewall (even though it's on the local machine), using Mixed mode with an SA password, and checked all the services are running, can even connect remotely from other computers using SSMS. Any suggestions?

Turns out you can't have a dash/hyphen ("-") in the database name. Took it out and everything runs nicely. Thanks tech support for the help! :)

Let me add somthing to this post. It is not that you cannot have a dash symbol, it is just that the database name if contains dash, must be inside square brackects. [DB-Name] for example.
