How would I get a list of locally installed SQL Server instances? I do not want to detect all instances on the network, and I am unable to use
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Microsoft SQL Server\\InstalledInstances
because the read registry action cannot read that key.
can you help?
