I got a simple question:
During an Installation i have to search for a file which will be on a network drive.
I think i can use "Find all Files" for this, but i have to provide a path for this function to work.
How can i get a list of all valid drives on the target machine and how (if possible) can i detect if the drive found is a network drive?
Get Valid Drives
No one an idea?
To be more specific:
I have to find a cd-rom which will be inserted in a cd-rom-drive on a server.
To get the valid path to the cd-rom i am looking for a specific file which i know will be on the cd-rom. When i still was using installshield i had a function named "GetValidDrives" which could be told to return network drives only.
After i got the drive list, i did a search for the specific file on each drive, if i found it i had found my cd-rom.
The file i am looking for is in the root directory of the cd-rom, so no subdirectorys have to be searched, therefore this method was fast enough.
Is there nothing similar to "GetValidDrives" in InstallAware? I almost can't beleave it, because i can get almost every possible information regarding the target system.
Therefore i still hope that i just didn't find it yet.
Anyone out there who can give me a hint?
