I am finding it takes an incredibly long time to build a relatively small install script. It seems to get to the step "Prepared SFX data" and then my CPU maxes out for a couple of minutes.
I discoverd that this has something to do with AVG Resident Shield, and by disabling that the problem goes away. However, I don't want to get into the habit of disabling my virus scanning all the time. Has anyone else experienced this or got any idea on what to do about it?
I have InstallAware 7 and AVG Network Edition 8.0.131
Build Time Very SLOW with AVG
I've run into this as well. Using InstallAware Studio Admin 7 and AVG 8.0.169.
I've been using Task Manager to "End Task" on AVGSRX.EXE. The installer continues on and AVGSRX.EXE automatically reloads. So I don't have to disable it. -- But, it is a pain. --
Can someone from InstallAware explain what is happening when "Prepared SFX data" is processing? What files might be in use? Maybe we could then create an exception for it.
Thanks,
Duane

I had the same issues with IA 7 while using Norton Antivirus.
I changed to Avira Antivirus and have never had that problem again
You can try the free version of Avira:
