Beginner Question - Apply Install

Post by dunion »

I need to create an install that is not based on copying from an installed product on the development machine (the folders won't be similar). So I create a new install project (win32). I create various components. I specify a top level folder in project settings. I then try to filter by components, pick one, to 'add' (create) the sub-folder I want the install to create for that compoenent. Then I will select the files (and where they come from, which will not be a similarly named folder) to go into this target folder. Tthe UI won't let me create it. It says to add 'Apply Install' to the script. The script editor won't accept this text (it's also not on the list to pick from). When I type it it doesn't keep the changes.

Is there a project setting or mode I need to set?

Found issue - I deleted the install and re-started.

Issue maybe related to having created this install while in trial mode? I deleted the install and started over and it is working correctly now. It was missing some variables that it needed in the script.
