At some point I copied my project Installaware 7.0 files into a new directory. Everything worked fine.
I just now created another directory on a different computer where I installed Installaware 8.0, and now I get an error message that the project can't find a D:\\OldDir\\OldVersion.MIA file, and shuts down. My current directory contains no MIA file. If I create the OldDir and copy the old MIA file in there, it works fine. The old mia file refers to all the new directories.
How do get the old MIA renamed and copied into my new directory?
Project refers to old MIA file - can't change?
BUMP - Surely there is an easy answer to this???
This means I can't create a variation of my old project, and is really causing me a head-ache...
Hi hendrik
mia is the script file. Usually, you can add and remove script files in the GUI. But as you write, the GUI doesn't even load the project.
So if you want to make it all in the GUI, you might create a new project, and copy and reference the old script.
Or you could also edit the mpr (project) file by hand. On the first line of the mpr file there's the name of the main script file. With my projects there's only the name without any path information. So I don't really know why you're getting an error. But if it contains a path in your file, you should be able to change it there. Generally I would not recommend editing these files directly, but if it's only changing a path to see if it works...
