64 Bit Regasm does not work

Post by Ton_B »

In my setup I use Regasm.exe to register Com interop services.
On Both a 32 and 64 bits machine this works fine.

But inside my setup I check if the registrtaion has been done correctly by checking if the correct CLSID has been made inside the regisrty.

At a 32 bits machine the result of the registry check is correct , but on a 64 bits machine i receive a NO$KEY value.

What's wrong ?
Why can't I check the regisrty value on a 64 bits machine ???

Are you setting the correct 64 bit mode before calling Read Registry?

No I have not :|
I will implement that, but is there a way to determan if the current machine is running under 32 or 64 bit's mode ?
And if so,
I see you can select 2 types of 64 bits modes: Itanium and x64

Glad to hear you've found it!

You can forget about Itanium, its Intel's old, dead, unsuccessful architecture which got nuked by AMD64 and later got cloned in Intel's EM64T - this is what x64 is and this is what you want.
