The first time I noticed this problem, I ignored it as a fluke. But since it happened again to another developer I thought I'd post it as an FYI...
InstallAware 8.00 was already installed (without trouble). Then I ran the installer for InstallAware 8.01 to upgrade. Everything seems to proceed fine, but then at the very end of installation when registering the Visual Studio plug-in, installation hangs. It turns out that it is waiting for a "devenv.exe" process which is hung for some reason. Upon killing that process, installation finishes and, in fact, the InstallAware toolbar and menu entry seem to be registered fine in Visual Studio.
I don't know if this is a problem with the latest 8.01 installer, or if something from 8.00 was not removed properly during uninstall, or if it's a side-effect of having like 4 different versions of Visual Studio installed (which I do, heheh), etc...
