Hello,
is there a way to have the installer add one of my EXE's to the Windows start up so it starts when windows comes up. it is just a form that I have minimized in the SysTray.
any thoughts?
Have installed EXE startup when Windows Reboots
There are two methods for doing this:
1:
Create a new string key inside of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Run
(If it's on a 64bit system and it's a 32bit exe this is the path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Wow6432Node\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Run.)
Choose a Name that reflect the program you want to run and Data to the full path to the .exe file. Like C:\\Temp\\My.exe
2:
Place a shortcut to the exe inside of the Startup folder of either All users or the user that you want to run the exe for.
There are several other places in the registry you could put this also. See this webpage for further reference: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutoria ... ial44.html
