Windows Service Recovery Options

Post by Shmulik28 »

Is there a way to have a Windows Service automatically configure on install the recovery options, i.e., If the service fails the first time restart?

I don't want my users to have to install the service, then manually go into the services.msc and configure the recovery options - is this possible to setup these options with IA 8?

I don't see anything in the IA dialogs and I don't remember ever seeing any options with IS either. Perhaps these settings are not available in the MSI tables but I've not checked to be sure.

However, you can change some parts of a service configuration using Windows sc command. If you can identify the syntax of that command there's nothing to stop you from running it as a DOS command after the service has been installed.
