Questions on logging

Post by JeffTucker »

We need to always write an install.log even during prerequisite checking. I have been running in the debugger and set Logged to $MYTEMPDIR$Install.log which should place the log file in: C:\\Users\\jtucker\\AppData\\Local\\Temp\\Install.log. I don't see it while running the debugger. When would this file get written? At end of setup? During setup? Is there any way to directly write comments to it?

You can use Write to Text File to write to any file you like. The log contains only Windows Installer data and is created at the time Apply (Un)Install is called.
