Version not showing up in Add/Remove Programs Dialog

Postby jhndnn » Wed Jun 24, 2009 11:55 am

Is there any reason why any installer I make with InstallAware doesn't display the version in the Version column of the Add/Remove Programs dialog box? Most other applications display this value - although oddly enough InstallAware itself does not.

One interesting fact is that is does show up in the Windows Installer Clean Up application. I'd like to be able to tell what version is installed from this dialog and adding the version to the name of the application creates issues with updating that I'd like to not have to deal with at the moment.

This has been added in 9.04, in earlier versions its trivial to add this using just a single call to Write Registry.

Hello Michael,

I just found this post, I'm running the most recent 9.06 release of the software and the version isn't displaying in Add/Remove Programs. If this is included in 9.04 and newer, how do I turn this functionality on?

Thanks!

-Jeff
