EditFile Correct Usage?

Post by pointeman »

I downloaded and installed your latest EditFile plug-in to edit an XML file. I cannot find and help docs, so I'm left to guess how to use it.

Q. Can I use %TARGETDIR%\\%TITLE%\\settings.xml for the 'Text file path'???

Q. How do I handle an install if the user might choose C:, D:, etc... if I cannot use %TARGETDIR% ???

I have tried both Variable and long file path, but nothing works.

Also I don't know how to catch any EditFile Errors either.

The editfile plugin only works on files that are already present on the target system, so, if you need to edit a file that you are installing the editfile plugin must be placed after the apply install command.

Thanks for pointing to my error. I've also been working with another program that uses %%, so I confused myself. Two heads are better than one.

Thanks again...
