How to avoid folder info being inserted into *.mpr file?

Post by UTL_TB »

Hi,

We are the new users of InstallAware. After successfully building the software packages, we notice that the full path of the *.mia file is being inserted into the *.mpr file for the *.mia entry automatically by InstallAware. Is there a way to configure InstallAware setup to avoid this.

Thanks,
TB

InstallAware always stores paths as relative paths inside the MPR file, if the files are on the same drive - this has been true of the last couple releases forward.

You can always edit the MPR file by hand to ensure the proper result.

Hi Michael,

It is a little inconvenient if some of the files generated by InstallAware are version controlled and be edited by mutiple users across sites. This is case for our group, and we all have to ensure that the unique relative path of each user is being removed before we checkin the MPR file into VCS. It would be nice if we don't have to do this step since we have to do weekly builds for our internal customers. If there is no plan by InstallAware to reverse this change, then we just have to live with it :( .

Thanks,

You shouldn't have to live with it - as long as the MIA scripts are on the same folder as the MPR file, the paths should be stored relatively. Which version of InstallAware were you running?
