Where can I find an msi file for java jre 1.6.0_10

Post by BobRoush »

I just found the Java Setup Template. I see by default it supplies jre-6u1-windows-i586-p.msi. My application requires java jre 1.6.0_10. I'd like to simply swap out the supplied msi for 1.6.0_1 with the msi for 1.6.0_10. Sounds simple and quick but I've looked around on the internet, mainly on Sun Java web page, for a few hours now for an "official" msi for 1.6.0_10 and still have not found one. Can anyone provide pointers, suggestions?

I would download Sun's full offline installer, run it (not install it but just start it up), go to the temporary folder where it extracts its files (may or may not be $TEMPDIR$, it might also be $WINDIR$\\Installer), and fish for the MSI file there :)

I was hoping to locate an "official" msi from InstallAware or Sun vs using something I dug out. But if nothing surfaces, I'll go this route.

The process above would give you the official installer directly from Sun. Naturally, InstallAware does not have access to such installer other than the means described above since we are not part of Sun in any way.
