IA9 - Moya SP1.
Registered services are successfully created and started during install and also successfully stopped and deleted during uninstall.
But during an upgrade ("Previous version uninstallation" ) the services are neither stopped or deleted leaving the previous version of the service still running after an upgrade. The service has to be manually restarted after IA is finished.
How can I force the service to restart during upgrade?

Are you saying that (Un)Install MSI Setup has a problem, or is it a problem with the old setups that are being uninstalled? Please quantify the issue better per the guidelines on this page:

I have to compilations, Installation_A & Installation_B, of the exact same project both compiled with latest IA ( 9.0.6 Moya SP1 )
- I run Installation_A - The service is now installed and started successfully.
I now have two scenarios to choose from; I either uninstall Installation_A before upgrading ( run Installation_A installer again )
or run Installation_B directly, which automatically uninstalls Installation_A before installing Installation_B.
- If I run Installation_A again the maintenance mode is invoked. I choose Uninstall and the service is now stopped and deletes successfully.
- If I run Installation_B instead the "Uninstall previous version" is proposed.
I proceed and upgrade Installation_A, in this case the service is never stopped and deleted.

Is the service stop and delete code executing during the first time installation of package A? Please read the help file topic "Setup Commands Preceding Apply Uninstall" to ensure you are timing the service calls correctly. Let me know where this timing is.

If my above post does not resolve your issue, also try replacing the attached file with the old copy in this folder (a typical path);
File Attached:
mMSIExec.zip
Then, rebuild your package B, and let me know what happens when it attempts to auto-uninstall package A.C:\\Program Files\\InstallAware\\InstallAware 9\\Plug-Ins\\MSI Shell

Michael,
I first of all have to correct myself, I was compiling in 9.0.4 and not 9.0.6, my sincere apologies for this misleading fact.
I recompiled the project in 9.0.6 and it works just fine, the services are now stopped and deleted during the automatic uninstall.
( For testing and confirming purposes I replaced the 9.0.6 dll with the one you attached and the I immediately got the problem back )
The problem was clearly related to IA < 9.0.6.
Thanks a lot for your time.
