Creating a Patch issue

Post by grjoseph »

hello all.

I was wondering if someone can help me out here. I created an install package. I then install this app onto Drive E.

I then make a patch for that install package. I then run that install package and when it runs it asks for the location of the original install package..I select that and then the install of the patch starts.... the problem is, that the Patch installs everyting onto drive C: and not on E where the original app was installed.

anyone one know why this is?

Make sure you're not overwriting the value of the $TARGETDIR$ variable.

hi, thanks for the reply. I figured out my problem....it was a moron move on my part....I had all the files for be installed located under $PROGRAMFILES$ when it should have been $TARGETDIR$.....so when the patch ran, it used the default $PROGRAMFILES$

what I did before was just set $PROGRAMFILES$ to the value of $TARGETDIR$.......I know..not sure why I did that but anyway, all is fixed now.

thanks again for the reply.
