Pass Variable between Scripts

This should be quick i hope.

I set a variable in the updates script based on a condition found

When control comes back to the main script and Apply Patch is called i want to be able to write this variable to the registry but i have no idea how to reference it.

Is this possible? And how if so

You can reference a variable by surrounding the name with dollar signs
