how to let user select a file to copy in from target PC?

Post by moorelife »

Our installers need a license file which is usually already on the target system somewhere, or on a connected USB stick. We know how to use driveselector, directoryselector and filelist to get the required filespec into a variable, but here is the main problem:

Install Files prohibits using a variable as the source, so we cannot use it.
Run program xcopy does allow variables, but seems to NOT COPY the file...

How do we achieve this?

Thanks in advance,

did you try:

Code: Select all

Call DLL Function $WINSYSDIR$Kernel32.dll->CopyFile (get result into variable DELETEFILEWINAPI)

Parameters are:

pointer to string <source>
pointer to string <target>
bool <returnval>
