How to set Product Version(major.minor.revision)

Do major, minor and revision have special restraint of leangh or Maximum(Minimum).
I want to reflect this format version(such as 20100222-1) to Product Version.

I have test many times, and find out that patch 1.0.02221 (2010.02.22-1) to 1.9.12311(2019.12.31-1) is OK, but patch to 2.0.01011(2020.01.01-1) will show error. why it happened.

other case has wrong:
2010.0222.1 ~ 2019.1231.1
10.0222.1~19.1231.1

The patch being created has a minor update transform that changes the major product version from 0010.0002.0221.0000 to 0019.0012.0311.0000. Minor updates should not change the major product version field.
