Hi,
The installer for our product sets up several working folders with specific privileges. Since we require admin privileges for installation, on Windows XP machines everything works flawlessly, but on Vista and Seven machines with UAC activated the folders do not get created correctly, we believe due to file virtualization issues. When we turn on the option "Vista UAC Control" in the Design tab of the project, everything works fine on Vista and Seven; but then the installer doesn't run on XP machines!
Is there any solution to this, other than creating two separate installers?
Thanks for everything, best regards,
Octavio

Re: Permissions assignment and UAC
The UAC check actually sees if UAC virtualization is present on the target platform when selected. So just drop down to the MSIcode view and wrap your UAC check around an If clause, performing it only if you are running on Vista or higher. That should do the trick!

Thanks a lot, Michael!
Haven't finished testing yet, but seems to work great!
