InstallAware and MergeModules

Hi,

I hope that MergeModuls are supported better in next IA Version because I have a two Problems using them in IA.

First: MergeModules and Patching is not really possible because I cannot use "Always Cache Setup Sources" if I have included MMs.

Second: On uninstall it takes a very long time (up to 5 minutes for MM VC8 CRT, MFC, MFCloc + policies) to uninstall these MergeModules and I get no progress shown.

I was having a lot of problems with merge modules when I build using my 64 bit system. I had to switch to a 32 bit virtual machine and build in there, then things seemed to be working OK. I think maybe the support for actually using InstallAware 9 on x64 systems is lacking and I haven't seen any attempt to put out fixes, they're probably waiting for InstallAware 10, hopefully things will work better there. But if you're on x64, try x32 and see if it works better.

Thx dunion for your tip, but I am working on WinXP 32bit, so that will not be the problem. Would be nice if someone from InstallAware could answer me and tell if this is a known problem or what can be done to improve merge module handling within IA.

Again my two issues are:

- MergeModules and always patch setup sources didn't work
- Merge Module Progress is not shown on uninstall (Installer seems to hang at the end of uninstall)
