Hi
I'm wondering if the following is possible, have a msi package with compressed data AND uncompressed data outside the msi package.
This since we have the following package architecture:
Main Installer
|
+-- Server Application files
|
+ -- Config files for Client (these are created after the setup of the Server App)
|
+-- Client Package
|
+ -- Client Application
So we install the Server part, start the server do its config, this creates the config files needed by the client.
The client config fiels are stored together with the client msi packages in the following structure:
ApplicationInstallDir
|
+ -- Programdata
| |
| + -- Config files
|
+ -- Client MSI
We currently use a combination of Nullsoft and Wise for accomplishing this task, now how do a I achieve the same result in InstallAware?
Thank you in advance
Cheers

Re: Partial uncomressed data
You could do a compressed/web build, and then copy the remainder files using Copy/Move Local Files relative to your setup.exe location. The only caveat with that will be that subfolders are not automatically recursed into by Windows Installer with that command.
