How do I launch an informational dialog

Post by EpicorRelease »

I am probably missing something obvious being a newbie with Install Aware 9 R2.

I have a prerequisites dialog that displays all necessary components and whether the target computer has said components installed.

If the prerequisite is not met, then a button labeled Details is enabled and visible. Is there a way to have the new Details button launch an informational dialog or message box and then return back to the prerequisite dialog?

Thanks!

Setting a button's action to Return from Dialog will cause the button's name to be the return value from a dialog/form.

You'll want to use labels and goto statements.

I'm including a sample project for you to examine, which behaves as you describe.

Also, examining the script that is generated when you create a Basic Setup is a good way to familiarize yourself with MSIcode basics.
