Create folder, Share folder and Give access rights

Post by Balanced-Plus »

Hi,

Create folder:
I would like to create a folder called: MyAppName
in folder: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documenten\

Create share:
Then I would like to share this so ALL users can access it:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documenten\MyAppName

Give access rights:
As I understand this folder has by default only read-rights, so I need to add write-rights for ALL users as well.

My application is installed on Windows XP and up and the solution must cover these operatingsystems.

How can I set this up in InstallAware? Can you supply me with a code sample?

I've read the suggested post, but it nowhere says how to set thing up exactly.
Make a call to a dll, thumble a little with permissions, etc.

Isn't there some description/document that describes this in detail? f.e.:
1. How to access folder C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\, is there some global variable for it (like "$PROGRAMFILES$").
2. What will happen if there is already a share with the same name on the client's computer? Is this checked?
3. What will happen if the folder is already shared on the client's computer by some other share? Is this checked?
4. How to set permission to all users (is version 9 R2 still as limited as described in the post for version 6.x)?
