Hello!
I am currently working on a patch which will upgrade our users from version 1.0 to v1.1. So this is the first upgrade after the first main installation.
I have been using the web deploy installation type and the upgrade will be done using update packs and a patch.
The problem that I am facing is that the new files included in v1.1 isn't copied to the target folder when I am upgrading.
However, if I install v1.1 directly, it works as it should.
Has anyone experienced something similar?

Re: Problem with upgrades using patches...
I have just noticed that the upgrades seems to work when the patch is created against a single executable (old version). When it is created against a web based installer it doesn't work.
Is there something in the documentation that says that it shouldn't work if it is created against a web based version...?

Re: Problem with upgrades using patches...
A patch should work for any build type. In fact, web builds are the "preferred" type since they cache their setups by default and the single and uncompressed builds will prompt for sources.
Have you tried applying the patch without pushing through an update?
Could you post a log of the failing patch?
