Hi,
I'd like to build an auto-build system to run when new files for our application come on ftp server.
Is it allowed (and will it work?) for commandline tool to be placed for i.e. on a server?
Thanks,
BarBQ

Re: Commandline tool question
Additional licenses should not be required for machines that do not use the IDE, but only use the command-line builder (miabuild.exe). However, you still need to install your existing license on these machines (so they won’t be in trial mode). The InstallAware setup should be used to install the commmand-line build tool to ensure its proper installation.

Thank you for reply Mills. Just to make sure, you mean IA should be installed on that machine but without ide, right?
Re: Commandline tool question
Bar_BQ,
That's how I did it at work; no IDE. I thought initially I could just copy the folder containing miabuild.exe from one machine to another which worked to an extent. I got the nag screen popping up now and then when I tried running the packages I built. Running the licence file executable did not really help. I then deleted the folders I copied manually and ran the IA installer, selecting only the appropriate features. I reran the licence application and voila! my packages built and ran without nag screens. So, yes, installing IA without the IDE worked for me.
