Installing a Service question

Here's another question I'm looking for information on.

We're using a 3rd party service, and its happily installing fine with the installer. My question is what happens if (by some small miracle) we install on a system that already has the same service being used with another program? I guess the thing I'm really wondering about is if we uninstall our product, does it uninstall the service too, even though another program may be using it? Or is the uninstaller smart enough to figure it out?

p.s. I really do like InstallAware. We've been using it for 2 years now, and so far it done everything I want it to do.

I am thrilled to learn that you like InstallAware.
If a service is used when uninstall is called, the service will remain installed (under the logic that services that are used during the uninstallation are required).
