Relative path to .mia

Post by NickDay »

Hi,

I am trying to develop an installer in our UK office, which will be built in the US. To be efficient, I copied the entire project folder from the US PC onto my PC in the UK.

When I double-click the project.mpr file to open it, I get:

Project Load Error
Script for project missing
\\remote machine name\path to\project.mia
Closing project now

The required .mia is right here in the folder, next to the .mpr
I think the problem is that the .mpr or another file must contain the absolute path of the .mia
As it just closes the project, I don't get any opportunity to make a repair. It would be nicer if it asked me to browse for the missing file.

Can I overcome this by hand-editing a configuration file, please? And if so, am I likely to encounter another similar problem?

Actually this problem is rather a surprise, as I had already copied this project folder to a PC in the US from the UK, and build the project without problems. So I did not expect to have any difficulty copying it back to the UK.

Thanks for any assistance.

Sorted.

I edited the .mpr.
First line contains the path the .mia
I backed it up and edited it so it just contains the _name_ of the .mia
Project builds OK, no further problems.

But if anyone has any comments, e.g problems to beware of when doing this, I'm listening...

Dear Nick,

Editing the .mpr file in a text editor is exactly what I would have done :)
