Applications Runtimes

Post by erezb »

Hi all,

I`m using installaware for a month or so and i noticed that the runtimes doesn't install. when i do step by step then i can see that
when it gets to the line of installing .net 4 for example, it gives the error message that says i have to manually install the runtime using windows update...
i can overcome this issue with downloading the runtimes manually from the web and combine them in my installation but i think
its not elegant solution.

any suggestions how to make it work automatically from the installation.

thanks in advance..

Dear Erez,

First of all, note that the pre-requisite runtime scripts sometime use a File Bag (the .NET 4 runtime does) so you won't be able to debug it as a File Bag is only created in a real run.

That being said, please make sure that your target system meets all the requirements to installing .NET 4 - we had a few instances in the past when the .NET 4 pre-requisite installation failed due to an incompatible system.
