Calling exe from Update script

I have a exe that is installed during the installation time of the product i want to call that exe when updating the product.What path should i provide in Run Program As command in update script

A simple way to do it is to add the exe to your script and place it in the file bag. The file bag is always known to your installation even if you might not have installed the file beforehand. If you're using a recent version of IA (12 for example) you can switch to hybrid-mode which'll give you guaranteed file installation so your "run program as" will be able to use the file. Otherwise, you might not get the file installed until after the Apply Install like earlier versions did. It depends on the sequencing and when things happen. The file bag might be better in that respect as you can add the exe as a support file and the file bag will let you use it when you need it.

If you're using a .Net ask yourself if the target machine has the framework installed that your exe requires.
