RegAsm with /codebase on an unsigned assembly

Post by Colin »

We use InstallAWARE Studio 9.

I am trying to include an unsigned COM Interop component and register it with the /codebase option.

I can register this OK manually (obviously I get a warning about unsigned assemblies)

Code: Select all

Microsoft (R) .NET Framework Assembly Registration Utility 2.0.50727.3053
Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation 1998-2004. All rights reserved.

RegAsm : warning RA0000 : Registering an unsigned assembly with /codebase can ca
use your assembly to interfere with other applications that may be installed on
the same computer. The /codebase switch is intended to be used only with signed
assemblies. Please give your assembly a strong name and re-register it.
    Types registered successfully
Is this supported in InstallAWARE? Is there anything special I need to do to make it work?

I have got this to work OK using InstallShield but I would prefer to use InstallAWARE if at all possible.

Thank you in advance.

Dear Colin,

you should be able to do it using "Run program" command passing the same command line parameters.
