Installation Hangs on Installing .NET 2.0 (x64)

I'm attempting to install InstallAware on Windows 8 Pro x64. The installer crashed at some point during my first attempt to install. I'm now trying for the 3rd time. The installer gets to "Installing .NET 2.0 Service Pack 2 (x64)" and just sits there. The progress bar keeps moving but it doesn't get past this stage and I've let it set there for over an hour.

Dear User,

Win 8 doesn't allow installation of NET 2.0 and you must install at least NET 3.5 version.

Plaese have a look at the following topic where is available the "Win8Net35test.rar" sample that demonstrates NET 3.5 installation on WIN 8.
