Error 2721: Custom action ACTAWE not found in Binary table
Hi guys,
I am getting the following error in my installer:
The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2721.
Installer log contains few more details:
Error 2721: Custom action ACTAWE not found in Binary table stream
...
Property(S): UNAUTHORIZEDEXEC_ERROR = Unauthorized to start the MSI installation/uninstallation!
I can't figure out what actually causes it.
Please advise

Re: Error 2721: Custom action ACTAWE not found in Binary ta
Dear User,
it is not so easy to find out what seems to happen with your package by the information provided.
Error 2721 occurs if the installation is unable to find the file being launched by the custom action in the Binary table or within the project. and many several factors within the project can lead to this error.
Is the error reproducible with any target OS or it can be verified with a specific target only?
Do you call any EXE or DLL with the package?
Regards

Re: Error 2721: Custom action ACTAWE not found in Binary ta
Hi Francesco,
Thank you for your reply.
Yes, I had few calls of Run program (all after Apply Install command). I commented them out and problem was still there.
However, after I restarted the build server (which is virtual Windows Server 2012) and re-made the build. Installer worked just fine.
I use InstallAware 15. Now I have to re-boot that build server every time prior to making a build. Otherwise IA setup will fail with the error described in my original post.
Please advise.
Regards,
Alex

Re: Error 2721: Custom action ACTAWE not found in Binary ta
Dear Alex,
In order to exclude any possibility that your issue is caused by a "license out of sync error" (the installed IA runtimes miss-match the license file you used) or by a possible error that has been already fixed with the most recent IA version update, please proceed as follow.
I'm trying to find out a possible way to isolate the cause of the issue that you seem to have.
I'm very sorry but this will require part of your time.
PLEASE NOTE!!!
Each InstallAware version (including updates) requires a specific license file. This must be generated when, a specific update or version, it is available from our server.
1- Make a backup copy of your current Personal activation file along with the IA package installation and keep these file in a safe place.
2- Completely un-install your InstallAware installation.
3- Restart your system
4- Download the last updated currently available (IA 15.51). Please choose the "Single File Download: 2.1 GB" installation package.
5- Once the IA package download is completed, re-generate your personal license file logging to your personal account page. Store both packages in a safe place for later use.
6- Install the IA 15.51 package selecting all available features.
IMPORTANT!! DO NOT ACTIVATE YOUR PRODUCT AND LEAVE IT AS TRIAL ONCE THE PACKAGE INSTALLATION HAS BEEN COMPLETED.
7- Rebuild the IA project.
8- Test the package.
9- Report to me your results ... but important, keep your IA product installation as trial. You will activate it later.
Let me know.
Regards

Dear Alex,
To summarize, you have downloaded and installed the current IA version available (IA 15.51) and to activate the product you used a regenerated personal license file. am I correct?
Could you please post wich is actually the InstallAware build number reported by IA IDE?
To visualize it, switch to "Project View" from IA IDE Ribbon Tab and then select the Version Button.
Let me know.
