TARGETDIR is empty after a patch is applied

I have an application that installs some files and then runs an executable to generate a configuration file based on some parameters collected during installation. The executable is located at $TARGETDIR$\\MyExe.exe

When uninstalling, the same executable is run to remove these configuration files and then the uninstall is applied

If I install and then uninstall everything works fine

If I install, patch and the uninstall the cleanup executable fails to run because the value of $TARGETDIR$ is empty. The files and shortcuts that were installed get removed fine however.

never mind, figured it out.

I was manipulating target dir in a way that the compiler didn't like. I changed it back to what the template project expects and everything works fine.
