Using \"Setup Password\" cause script error

Postby rbs04 » Tue Jul 31, 2007 4:59 pm

When I add a Setup Password (for Compress Packages Only)
256-Bit Encryption Key:

The install fails with an error:
Runtime error in setup script:

Line 176: '$

If I remove the password, the install works correctly.

Line 176 is the END REGION for the DEFINE REGION: Process (Un) Installation

There are no customizations to the script other than the Run Program line and that just points to the installed program.

UPDATE:

I changed my password to a short password and the install worked correctly. Is the limit to the length of the password?

Thanks

Version

Version 7.0 (Build lonepine_rtm.071107)

Here is the password that caused the problem:

"Evaluation AJD1RB14JL63Z"

When I switch to a shorter password it worked.

I just checked that password in Studio Admin 7.0 and it did not give me an error. Are you using any other edition?

Nope. That is the only version.
When I step through the debugger, it works fine. But, when I compile it into a single executable and run it, it has the problem.

I am really sorry. I cannot recreate your problem and IA doesn't have lenght restriction for passwords. Try creating a new project and use that same password. Maybe your project got corrupted at some point. Please let me know the result.
