Can't decompress a merge module

I downloaded some merge modules for Crystal Reports RDC 11.0 from here:

A few months ago I was able to use the "MSI CAB Decompressor" tool to decompress the merge modules, and then I had better compression.

With InstallAware 2005 Second Edition, that tool seems to have been replaced with the "Setup Decompressor". I'm trying to run it on my merge modules (it accepts *.msm in the open file filter). But it returns immediately with this error:

"File is a merge module, skipping processing: C:\\Files\\cr_rdc_11\\CrystalReports11_RDC_Reportengine.msm"

This seems to imply that the tool is explicity skipping this file because it's a merge module. Do I need to install an older verion of InstallAware to decompress this merge module?

This is an artificial limitation in the InstallAware Setup Decompressor, in other words a bug :)

You can work around it by just renaming the MSM files to an MSI extension right before processing. The update will fix this. Sorry for the hassle! At least the Setup Decompressor is completely automated :)
