Default installation marks app as SystemComponent in Regis

Post by alexzakharov »

I noticed that default installation marks app as SystemComponent in the registry (under 'Uninstall' registry folder).

- Is there a reason for this default behavior?
- If I wanted to set SystemComponent to be false, should I explicitly overwrite that value in my installer script or is there something I can set that would prevent my app from being marked as SystemComponent?

Thanks

While I was waiting for reply I try writing SystemComponent key myself with 'Write Registry Key' command - I set it to zero but is still shows up as 1. What gives?

Much thanks,

Alex
