Hi
Using IA Studio 9 R2, in Single File installer mode on XP Pro SP2, I try copying local files from where my installer is located $SFXPATH$ to the installation folder $TARGETDIR$.
I have tried both "copy local files" and Use DLL with CopyFileA but none works. I read everything about it in the IA help file, I tried everything suggested in google about it and still nothing works.
I attach a JPG image with my script snippet, dialogs etc to show exactly how I am using it (although I have tried dozens of other variations, with and w/o double quotes for instance).
I have spent 5 hours already on what should have been a trivial operation.
Help, please !!!
Gary

Re: IA 9 R2 will not copy local files.
Fascinating report!
I'd like to see the log file this setup generates?
Since you're also using the MSI Service to do the same action, I wonder what the log contains pertaining to that action that also apparently failed (even when going through Windows Installer).

Re: IA 9 R2 will not copy local files.
Can you also reproduce this problem with an empty project that does nothing other than just attempt to copy the file?

Re: IA 9 R2 will not copy local files.
The first log you attached looks a bit odd, it references new instances and needs upgrade, and looks like a patch is being run.
The second log you attached seems cut in the middle.
In the sample project, there's a problem with the copy call - the second parameter does not provide the destination file name.
Also, again in the sample project, because you haven't called Apply Install, the Windows Installer action (in purple) will not have effect.

Finally, you are attempting to call kernel.dll instead of kernel32.dll
If you inspect the return value of the function, it says DLLLOADFAILED...
