Hello,
I am getting this message:
Error during build: Unable to get assembly information for D:\share\X-Win32 2010\Data1.cab\ul_msvcr80.dll.98CB24AD_52FB_DB5F_FF1F_C8B3B9A1E18E\msvcr80.dll
I searched the forum and I found some other similar questions, but I did not find any solutions.
Assembly information for msvcr80.dll?
Re: Assembly information for msvcr80.dll?
Could you verify which version of InstallAware being used (version/SP)?
Is your installer running in 64-bit mode?
What OS are you developing on? 64-bit?
Are you building from command line or through the IDE?
Would you attach the dll for us to look at?

Re: Assembly information for msvcr80.dll?
This was my first try. I wanted to change a little a ready made msi package and I thought it is just a simple thing to start learning to use the program.
Could you verify which version of InstallAware being used (version/SP)?
I have 9R2 build Moya.sp2.052710
Is your installer running in 64-bit mode?
??? perhaps not. How to change it?
What OS are you developing on? 64-bit?
Yes, it is Win7 64bit.
Are you building from command line or through the IDE?

I hope I managed to add it!

Re: Assembly information for msvcr80.dll?
The Assemblies section is intended for registering .NET dlls to the GAC.
Does your application require Visual C++ runtimes? If that's the case, then you should make the appropriate selection in the Application Runtimes section:

Re: Assembly information for msvcr80.dll?
Hello I'm seeing the same message for mMSIExec.dll using IA 9 R2 "Error during build: Unable to get assembly information for G:\...\InstallAware\mMSIExec.dll". The dll is present in this folder and is dated 7-9-2010. The folder doesn't have any access restrictions. Since the DLL is a plug-in for the MSIShell I presume that IA takes care of including any Application Runtimes needed for this? The error message sounds like IA is complaining about the lack of DLL identification information in the DLL header?
Re: Assembly information for msvcr80.dll?
Are you trying to install it using Install or Register Assembly? Those commands are reserved for .NET assemblies. You could use Install File...
