checkvc91_x64 error (2)

Post by steven »

I've a PC with a Clean installation of Windows 7 x64 .
Using my InstallAware Studio 9 ( Moya SP1 ) I've added to the Default Project Sample the prerequisites Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime 9.0 (includes ATL and MFC) Service Pack 1 (x64) . When I try to install the pkg the InstallAware wizard start to install the runtime requirenment but the procedure fail and a MessageBox suggests to use Windows Update to install this update.

I've found a lot of problem using the x64 script, but my version of InstallAware is certified for Win7 x64 ?
There is an upgrade available ?
There are new Microsoft Visual C++ runtime that i can install without problem ?

Thanks,
Steven

I tried to reproduce this twice:

Attemp to Reproduce:

Start new Blank project.
Include runtime MSVC++ 9.0 (includes ATL & MFC) SP1 (x64)

Build project. (single file)

Run installer on Windows 7 x64 (+UAC)

Asks to install VC++ runtime. Click Next.
Displays "Plese wait while installs requirements"
Shows status:
copying files (dlls),
publishing product info

Result:
C++ runtimes successfully installed.

Verify by canceling setup when installer dialog displays

"will install <setup> onto computer".
Run setup again, notice the prereqs prompt doesn't

display again and goes straight to product install

prompt.

Notes:
Web deployment didn't work; couldn't download data, but

got no prompt for Windows Update.

Attemp to Reproduce:

Tried sample project provided by customer, same

essential project- barebones with C++ runtime checked.

Result:
Runtimes properly installed

Hello Mills,

I have exactly the same problem as Stevens. In my case, i don't have any UAC enable. And I'm using InstallAware 9 R2 (Build sliders.rtm.050709)

Can you send me the link to download the SP3? I really need to install those C++ runtimes for 64-bit version.

Thank you

AKNG,

Have you considered switching to InstallAware 10?

Hello,

Yesterday, I tried the version 10 that I downloaded at December 1st, but I still unable to install those C++ runtimes. And the error message is in Vietnamese, so I went back to version 9 R2

Hello,

You cannot use the same license on all InstallAware versions. When you upgrade InstallAware (whether its a minor or a major upgrade), you must regenerate your license and reinstall it. For example, you cannot use the same license in version 9 R2 and in version 10. Furthermore, in general, message boxes and texts in unfamiliar languages mean that you have broken your IA product by using an incompatible license.

AKNG, please see this forum post regarding your run-times:

Thanks!

Dear Frank,

Unfortunately, we do not keep old versions of InstallAware on our servers. Please try this thread as you might find it helpful:

We had the same issue but using IA10.

On a particular customer's system, they were using an odd configuration.

The processor was AMD64
The OS was Windows 7 (32-bit).

VC90 errored out.

Error 1935. An error occured during the installation of assmebly 'Microsoft.VC90.MFC,version="9.0.30729.1"
ProcessorArchitecture="amd64", type="win32"
