Text field at start time empty

Hello,
I think it must be simple, but I do not know how to do
If have a dialog "destination" (like from the example project) with a text field called "DataDir" and below a treeview
I want that at start time if the dialog appears the text field is empty.
User have to select a directory from the Tree view below and this path should be shown in the "DataDir" text field.

I tried it with "Reveives from Written variable value" for the text field and setup "set variable datadir to" before calling the dialog.
But there is always a direcotry path in the "DataDir" at the start time.

Can you tell me how I have to set the variables and settings in the dialog?

Hi,

Generally, what you are doing is correct. But as soon as the dialog shows, the variable that is associated with the text field gets set by the tree view and the result variable gets set as well..

yes this is the problem
So you have no idea for this?
That at start time the text field is empty and anyhow later if you select a directory from the tree view the path is shown in the text field?

I tried also with "Receive value from <none>" then it is empty but then there is no assign from the tree view to the text field

any idea?

Hi,

You can't do that - the variables are bound and as soon as the tree pops up and shows, the variable that it is bound to receives the value of the tree selection..
