InstallAware update 5.2

Postby GW44 » Tue Feb 28, 2006 12:35 am

After applying the lic the release # shown in the About box reverts back to previous release.

The release does show SP2 before appl the lic.

You need to follow the instructions in your license email.

As already mentioned in the first reply to your post, you need to regenerate your license.

The eml we rec'd from Michael:

... - use your license file on your trial download.

Which is what we did.

Nothing in the eml about regenerate, nor in the original eml with the ser # etc.

Finally figured it out.

Somewheres it may be worth noting that

A) all Downloads, inluding patches/updates are trial downloads

and

B) One has to regenerate the lic key after each update.

Tacky way of updating software I'd say. Surely as a company touting as having software to make things easier for developers, this part could be much improved.

Well, i really don't get where the "bad" part is..
You download patch/software/update/whatever, you re-download your license.. :O That simple..

First real answer to the problem.

Don't know why it was so difficult for TS to answer this simple question.

They think it is a secret maybe to inform a customer how to...?

Thks.
