Converting InstallShield. SalvationShield.dll access viol.

Post by mhammady »

Hi,

I'm trying to convert from IS 2012 Pro to InstallAware RAD studio Edition. After creating a new project, and try to import the *.ism file, i get the attached access violation error in the SalvationShield.dll

Kindly advise what could be wrong??

Dear User,

The InstallAware InstallShield converter only works on InstallShield projects saved in XML format.
Please save your project as XML and try the conversion again.

I have the same exact problem, trying to convert a project from InstallShield 12 Premier Edition.

I don't see any way to save the project as XML in IS12. It only offers *.ism and *.ist formats. How do you save an InstallShield project as XML?

Dear User,

For what I know it is just required to save InstallShield projects in XML format.

I do not know if this can be related to an InstallShield edition limit.
Probably you can have more info on InstallShield Forum.
