Install and uninstall progress bar
Hi all,
I am just newbie to install aware. I have created a success full installer. My only problem is the movie.swf file which I have added during the progress of installation.
This works perfectly when I install but when I uninstall the movie.swf it gets popped up.
I do not want the movie.swf to run during the uninstallation.
Has anyone faced such issues?

Make the flash control invisible if REMOVE=TRUE.

Re: Install and uninstall progress bar
Thanks for the reply. I could able to solve the issue.
But now the concern is the form size. The form size is quite big for the un-installation. I tried the various option of autosize available - bt doesn help !

Re: Install and uninstall progress bar
Just create a new dialog and set AutoSize=False and then edit height and Width parameters.

Hi, I created a new dialog, but how to integrate it during un-installation. It still shows the old dialog. As install aware uses the same dialog for install and uninstall ..!!!
Re: Install and uninstall progress bar
Yes it is correct to use the same dialog, only the text controls and other controls should be shown/hide depending on REMOVE=TRUE or not.

Re: Install and uninstall progress bar
Well I gave the option of False for the uninstallation. But that will show some white image at that part during un-installation. Some how I am not able to re-size during un-installation.
Thanks in advance
Thanks in advance
Re: Install and uninstall progress bar
Did you hide the Remove Label? Maybe move it somewhere to the middle. I am not sure if I understood right, pls make a screenshot to illustrate the problem.

Re: Install and uninstall progress bar
Well my actual problem is the un-installation.
during installation I play the movie, swf during progress. But I want only the movie.swf to be played during installation, but that also shows the form
. I want to get rid of the form.
BUT during un-installation, I have made the movie.swf=FALSE, so it will not run the movie.swf , BUT it will still show the big FORM, which runs during installation.
So actual concern is the form, which should not be displayed during un-installation. If displayed , how do it re-size the form only for un-installation?

Re: Install and uninstall progress bar
Ah okay now I understand. I think resizing the whole form (depending on a property) is not possible. You will have to display different dialogs for installation/uninstallation.

Re: Install and uninstall progress bar
hmmm... so how do I direct it to diff dialog while uninstallation???
1)Create new dialog
2) set property of un-install
I am still concerned how to add a new dialog to yr project with the name progress?

Re: Install and uninstall progress bar
mmh you could add a condition in the display dialog command If Variable REMOVE=TRUE or FALSE
or do something like that:
or do something like that:
Code: Select all
if Variable REMOVE Equals TRUE
Comment: display uninstall progress dialog
Display Dialog: , wait for dialog to return (modal)
else
Comment: display install progress dialog
Display Dialog: , wait for dialog to return (modal)
end
