Dear User,

are you sure those files are not in use during upgrade process?

the upgrade process correctly removes previous installation before to proceed?
is it the update correctly reported in Control Panel -> ARP after installation?

Hello Francesco,

thanks for your reply.

I made a Web Deploy with InstallAware 15 Studio Admin.
the .7zip file loads from webserver.

Update is set in Update Packs and Version.
Created with Design > Deploy > patches and used the compiled exe from web deploy of version 1.0.

Then i closed InstallAware. Deletet 2 files and added 2 files in the Source folder.
opend InstallAware and createt the patch.

what i have too, is he updatees more files that are already in Version 1.0 and nothing changed. This are txt. Files

now when he loads the patch and installs it. I have the 2 new files inside but the 2 old files with a other name are still in there.

What you mean with reported in Control Panel > ARP?

Thank you

Dear User,

You didn't say that you are installing a Patch ... I supposed you was running a full update.

Please first verify that your patch project has been created correctly.
There are some rules to follow with a patch project and I suggest you to have a look at the following forum topic, where a patch sample project it also available.
http://www.installaware.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=9343

What you mean with reported in Control Panel > ARP?

The information reported in Control Panel -> Add Remove Program list about your installed application.

Dear User,

Could you please post a very minimal project that replicates you issue?
In you specific case should be two projects;
- one for the first installation version and the other one, which contains the modifications you want to apply to the installed application.

I believe this is the preferable way to find out what really happens on your side.

Post the projects (in compressed form) with your reply when you ready (please include the two complete project folders and all the files used).

I attached your sample Project modified.

In Version 1.0.0.0 it installes the .pdf and the test.txt

In Version 1.0.1.0 it should remove the test.txt (not working) and updates the pdf (working)

Dear Rene,

The projects you uploaded do not contain your modification, but instead are the exact copy of my samples.

Anyway, I have modified them for you ... and the patch build "Version 1.0.1.0.exe" removes the text file and replaces the pdf installed by version 1.0.0.0.

Hope this clarifies your doubts.

NOTE;
the attached file already contains the packages builds. If you want to rebuild the project for version 1.0.1.0, you must modify the patch reference path with one available with your environment.

Dear Rene,

just added the txt file installation in project 1.0.0.0 and then in project 1.0.1.0, added a "Delete File" command if compiled as PATCH.

That's it.
