InstallAware 17 Compression Error

Following your instructions, I have been able to replicate the same.

By the way, with my test has been just enough to open the "Project Settings" and then to confirm the settings once again without changes.

I'll drop a note about this behavior to our dev team.

an update (IA 17.02) has been made available.
It should be just enough to re-generate your license file.

We just installed InstallAware 17 also. We had the exact same problem when we first tried to build our installer. We use the highest compression level. We are running Win7x64 with 12GB RAM.

I was able to get it to work however by restarting my machine and running InstallAware 17 first before any other applications.

Francesco,

I just downloaded and installed 17.02. Same error. I can no longer build with Compression. Also rebooted.

Update: I reduced the compression level to the lowest setting in Projects Settings. It compiled fine. Then I set the compression back to Best (max), and it ran fine. So now it seems to be working. Not sure why. Didn't reboot this time, only changed the compression settings and then back to max.

Yes, I re-generated a new license for 17 and it activated without errors.

I only used the re-generated license file to have the fix applied.

Anyway, it should work with installing the new IA update and then applying the re-generated license as well ( ... the way that seems you used).

... I really don't know what to suggest you to try further.

At any rate, once you changed the compression settings and then back to max it seems that this finally solved the issue you had. Am I correct?

I again redownloaded the latest version of 17 and regenerated the license file. I uninstalled and reinstalled everything. So far I haven't been able to recreate the error.

Hello,

I encounter the same issue with an upgraded v15 project.
Compression works on the second highest level, but not on the highest level.

I already updated to the latest Version: 17.04 (Released to Manufacturing on: August 20, 2013) and regenerated my licence, but same effect.

Dear WAndreas,

I had the same problem with compression settings, but just using the re-generated license for IA 17.03 over a 17.02 installation solved my problem.

What you reported it is really strange, because starting from IA 17.03 the fix is already included with the product download trial.
Due of this and if after applying your personal activation file the problem is not fixed ... it seems that you are not using a correct license file.

Which is the build version reported by your IA IDE?

I am using InstallAware 17.03 Studio Admin and i have the same issue. i just want to know if the issue with the memory is intentionally added to limit somehow the trial version ? It's kind of annoying to restart always just to build the installer as single file. I have 12Gb RAM and a SSD drive. In VMWare is working without any problems. I have two computers with SSD drives and it fails on both.
