Windows Explorer Error when attempting to install an applica

Have an instance where trying to run the installer to install an application I get a Windows Explorer dialog box with the message
"Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close".

I have had no other problems with this machine. Has anyone seen this before. Any clus as to why IA does not like this machine?

Have you installed any shell extensions on your machine recently? They could be breaking things.

Check if you have any spyware, or other potentially malicious/destabilizing software on your machine.

Michael,

Thanks for the response but I have not installed any shells that I am aware of. As for SpyWare, I check my machine almost daily using SpyBot Search and Destroy and WebRoot Spy Sweeper. I am just as fanatic about virus checking.

I do have Install Shield 10 installed but can't imagine that that would hose your installer (would it?).

As I stated in my earlier post, every thing else seems to work. I am using a dual-core intel cpu with 1gb of ddr2 memory.

Well, since InstallAware setups have nothing to do with Windows Explorer, I really cannot help you here.
