Postby Riccardo_Amico » Tue Feb 10, 2015 4:47 am

Hi,

i need to set some variable inside IA from a C# function.
i know that with IS and his refernce "InstallShield.interop.msi" i can handle the custom action,

is there something similar?is this possible?

thanks

Dear Riccardo,

this is possible via IA Plugin. Please refer to the "Plug-In Authoring Overview" topic available with the InstallAware documentation.

In addition search for "Dot NET plugins" or "Net Bridge Plugins" in the "Plug-In Development" Forum.

Dear Riccardo,

with the link below is available a ready to use "Net Plugin sample".
http://www.installaware.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=8868

The above sample includes also the VS 2010 Net C# projects with the full source code and it demonstrates with very basic coding, how to handle InstallAware variables during a plugin execution.

Hope this helps you.

Riccardo,

If Francesco is okay with my suggestion, let him contact you by email and he can give you my email address. If you then contact me, I can send you a working example of a plugin. I can answer any questions you might have.
