PFX Windows 7 to 10

Postby emmertonland » Mon Jun 13, 2016 11:20 am

I use Installaware X Studio, and have been successfully signing exe and msi files with a PFX Certificate under Windows 7.

Upgrading to Windows 10, my Installaware X Studio fails to sign.

Comodo advise that the Private file might be corrupted, and advise to get replacement Keys.

KSoftware advise that since I exported my PFX before upgrading to Windows 10, this can not be the issue.

Does anyone have a similar experience, and a recommended solution?

Thanks

I have checked by using KSign from KSoftware.

KSoft will sign the exe but not the msi

SOLVED

To resolve this problem I replaced the Verisign TimeStamp with the http://timestamp.comodoca.com Comodo TimeStamp.

According to the Comodo support literature:

" Our time stamping server automatically selects the appropriate signature algorithm (RSA/SHA-1, RSA/SHA-256 or RSA/SHA-384) with which to sign each timestamp"

happy you solved!

Anyway, It must work also with; http://timestamp.comodoca.com/rfc3161

It's the one I use and the predefined one in IA X4.
